One year from now

I will:
1) Have run a marathon
2) Be 100 pounds lighter
3) Wear a size 10 clothes
4) Be riding my bike routinely to work
5) Have completed the "Hotter N' Hell 100" bike ride in Wichita Falls, TX (August, 2007)
6) Be able to hike in the Colorado Rockies with my husband and kids and not get left behind or make them have to wait up for me.
7) Have the right eating habits that help me do all of the above.

There are other personal and spiritual goals that I am still reflecting about after Mark's inspiring talk yesterday, but these fitness goals came to mind pretty quickly. I also like the mental exercise of asking yourself, "Is what I am doing now helping me make my goals?" Writing down the goals sure helps you answer that question! Thanks, Mark!

Today is cross training day, and I've talked myself into riding my bike outdoors. Brr...

kathy, right? i ride my bike too. maybe we could ride together sometime - riding alone is kinda dangerous, and i've been looking for someone to go with. where do you like to ride?

oh, and great goals! i guess i should sit down and think out my own today too. you're an inspiration!! (i'll do this while i eat the brownies my daughter's baking)

you ride WAY further than i'm able right now! ok, so we'll walk and make a plan for the future - after i'm more in shape and stronger on the bike and can do 14 miles. (a normal ride for me would be maybe 10 or less). and the Trace is where i like to ride too. riding alone, cars don't always wait to go around. but they'll usually wait to pass two bikers, or so i've found in the past.

have fun at your moms! and i really admire you for planning to ride to work. that's a very long way! (not to mention riding home after a hard day of the office!)

my email is qswayze@aol.com if you want to communicate that way.

have a good week!

I love your goal #7. I have actually "gained" weight since begining this training...I have said to myself, "I can eat this because I exercised today"...NOT SO! I need to realize that I'm not gonna lose if I take in as many (or more) calories than I'm burning. So, your #7 HIT HOME. I will write out my goals too. Thanks for the inspiration.
